"Tugh Luck" has'nt been
heard much of, a shame becores it´s really thrilling and have a
surprising end. Armand Assante (Ike)
is both tragic and very funny in this story, there a several totally
crazy and funny scenes in this movie that still make me laugh just
thinking of it. Watch here cast interviews from this movie YouTube Movie Trailer for "Tough Luck" Pay attention to the leading character here Norman Reduus, he is Archie in the movie. His performance really surpriced me in the good way...an outstanding performance. The most entertaining of this plot is absolutely, that you never find out who to trust, who is the 'bad guy' here ? and who is the 'good' ? You have to swift oppinion about it several times during this really good story. It is literally ´circus' of manupilating characters... ![]() And "Armand Assante's" tiny monkey has a significant role in the movie as well. It should be given an Award for Best and Outstanding Animal Supporting Role in a Feature Movie. LOL A "Must-have-Item" for the 'mad' Armand Assante Movie collector. A further introduction to the plot "...........As for Tough Luck, I would be lying if I said that this film didn't surprise me. I was, personally, blown away by how good this film was. Upon renting it several years back, I was expecting another cliché thriller with a lot of the typical elements and themes that are shown in a lot of films of that type these days. Within minutes I was hooked and found myself quite involved with the world of this film....." read more... The movie it self was nominated for 2 Golden Globes. It was something of a task, - to live up to the previous leading part actor Gregory Peck, Armand Assante did a tremendious job. It´s highly rated by both male- and female fans. "On The Beach" was introduced to an ordiance first time in 1959. A very famous crew of acting artists filled the movie with talent as Gregory Peck, Ava Gardner, Fred Astaire and Anthony Perkins (with whom Armand Assante performed in "Napoleon and Josephine"). Armand
Assante's role in "On
the Beach" is not just as a captain of a ship but a broad range of emotions from love to hopefullness. He had to deal with death, of his wife and children, he wanted to be loyal to their memory. After meeting someone new he had to make himself vulnerable all over again. He also had the respect of his crew. The range of emotions portraied by him was from one extreme to the other?????? He succeded in playing the role he was given. He had a role which he could sink his teeth in. I loved this movie. One of my favourites. |

From the

armand-assante.jiglu.com Very often a movie is very good, even as critics tell it´s bad... from GreenCine.com there is this review of "When Nietzsche Wept". ![]() Quote: How could they take a great idea and a pretty good story and make such a awful movie out of it ? Armand Assante is delightful to watch, as always. The locations are beautiful. The photography and editing are adequate. The casting is terrible. The acting is worse. The "dream sequences" are ludicrous (watch one of those at the links-site under Videos). The female lead... well, why bother to go on? I'm sorry to have to report that you should definitely avoid this movie.(End of Quote) It seems to be the story of Armand, he always does a good and outstanding performance but then "something is lost in the editing"...? Did you watch the movie?. And if.?..What was your impression of it as a fan ? |

I have the DVD of When Nietzsche Wept.
I
was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed it very much. The dream sequences
were rather bazaar. I must admit I did not have a great knowledge of
Friedrich Nietzsche. Armand's performance was wonderful. There were
some surprises in the film. As Armand has said, he was born to play
Nietzsche. I would recommend this film. I hope you find this review
helpful.

I saw the movie. The plot: Based on the bestselling, award-winning novel. The film tells the story of obsession, love and fate that formed the basis of modern psychoanalysis. Friedrich Nietzsche, Sigmund Freud, Dr. Josef Breuer and Anna O cross paths when Nietzsche is a sick, poor and unknow philosopher and Freud is a 26 year old medical intern. They are brought together by a heart-breaking love triangle and the beautiful Lou Salome, who defied the morals of her time. The sensual yet unattainable Lou convinces Dr. Breuer to experiment on Nietzsche's mind with his controversial "talking cure." In his attempt, Breuer himself becomes a patient and the two enter a world where reality and dreams collide. Breuer is forced to deal with his sexual obsession with Anna while Nietzsche must forget the love of his life. A dramatic story of 2 of the most important and enigmatic men who changed the course of history. Are you ready? Well here we go: You realy must see this movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It takes patience to watch but it is well worth the viewer's time. Armand seems the only one to wholly grasp his role as Nietzsche. Armand captures the dynamism of Nietzsche in his very first scene, when he is lecturing on his famous "god is dead" statement in his classroom This movie is once again showing that Armand is an underrated actor, and that is a terrible shame! He could win an Oscar with his performance in this movie. Another multi-faceted portrayal of a complicated personality performed by our Armand. He did an incredible job and his performance alone makes this movie worth watching. Armand seems the only one to wholly grasp his role as Nietzsche. I surely will see this movie for a second time! And if I wasn't proud already of Armand, this is PERFECT! He is not acting he is Nietzsche, he IS Nietzsche !! Thank you Armand for your exceptionally brilliant performance in this film. Grace |

February 20, 2009 Comments from Anna Olla Australia ![]() "When Nietzsche Wept". |
In Australia
it is sometimes very hard to find films with Armand Aassante.
Most of his movies ive gotten over the internet in the US. The last movie i've watched is "When Nietzsche Wept". It reminded me of his interview which he said "It was probably the most complex role I've ever tackled. I had to at least try to fill the shoes of Nietzsche." After watching this film my feeling about him trying to "fill the shoes of Nietzsce" is perfect. I was vastly impressed in his performace Very, very, very much. I loved the whole movie, from begining to end. I came across opinions that were very negative to the film, ut to me they were very wrong. When the film ended i was only disappointed that it did not continue further and i watched it again. I want to see every film that AA is in to be as good. His performance of Nietzsce was as if it was Nietzsche himself. Whether a film is good or not depends also whether that director and actor can communicate their role to the other. I can be very critical of Armand Assante, his roles and movies - sometimes. But he himself said that he knows he's been in bad movies. |

| December 8, 2010 FANS COMMENTS ON THE MOVIE "Lost" Armand Assante as Kevin Khory Gitte, Denmark Also recommended by Australian fan Anna O. ![]() Jane ![]() Kevin ![]() Mira and Kevin ![]() Kevin and the capdriver |
LOST If you would like to see a really good movie with Armand Assante you should watch "LOST". Ready on the movie-market from 2009 it is pretty new movie. It´s filmed on location in Spain and they talk spanish now and then, but else...they talk english. Armand Assante performes psychiatrist Kevin Khory only reffered to as Kevin The beatifull and very talented Lacey Chabert is Jane, one of Dr. Kevin's former patients. Dina Meyer is the concerned sister Mira who approaches Kevin as he is in Spain on a promotion tour introducing one of his books. He is not praticising any more, only writing books. She is very threatening and says she will sue him if he does´nt re-examin her sister Jane, who is locked up in a hospital suffering heavily from of a traume and put under so much medicin no body seems to be able to reach her. Dr. Kevin and his team gave her the diagnose and was sure she had been exposed to some sort of abuse in her past. The sister Mira does not agry. Kevin now is put under great pressure. His publisher want him to proceed his book presenting tour, he has to re-examine Jane if he will avoid a scandalous trial and the hospital only give him a week to re-diagnose her, believing he is still practising in New York ! Jane is taken off her medicin. Kevin has short sessions with her at the hospital determined to stay with his first diagnose, she was abused ! He is filming her while talking with her. Suddenly another woman with a different name appears...as he watch the tape he sees clearly her eye-color change. And there are mysterious static disturbances on the film as it happens ? Kevin is a hunted man himself. He is suffering from the loss of his wife. She left him a note and her wedding ring behind. He does'nt know where she is ? Why she left him ? And is blaming himself, working to much, being to occupied with his patients. The deeper we come in this story, seen from Kevins viewpoint, this case takes several mysterious turns. The gentle doctor gets deeper and deeper involved in Jane's background and as two more alter-ego weman appears during the sessions and their names seems to belong the real weman the police has lost trace of...this thriller becomes even more breathtaking. Is it not a case of a mental disturbed and traumetised woman, but rather a woman obsessed with real weman's spirits that try to talk through her to tell their devastating stories ? An alkoholized cap-driver with psychic abilities have worked for the police on several occations and used psycometry to get in touch with victems the police can't reach. Kevin can't take him serious. What really happend to Jane ? Are there forces that don't want to truth to come foreward ? Time is running out...Will Kevin find the truth ? Armand Assante has been given a really good part here and the young woman that performes Jane is absoluty phenomenale. Really worth watching..... ........ if you like a story with a pretty surprising endning ! Here is a Norwegen review of the movie. He is not as thrilled as I was..link to some more photos from the movie. cinerama.no/anmeldelse_the-lost |
