Dear Fans !
Welcome to this fanpage about the great american actor: Armand Assante !
It is made to celebrate his lifelong work and will hopefully be a joy, both to him, and to you - his fan !
I became his fan better late, than never, because I live in Denmark and we have´nt been introduced to his work, that much !
Most of Armand Assantes productions are home-box videos and a few are movie-theatre productions !
Thank´s to internet it has become easier to choose for yourself, what you want to watch .
he way he interpret a charachter stood out and impressed me so much, I had to know more about his performance and what else he had done. I was surpriced to see - how he had been going strong ever since his youth - and I did´nt know half the titles of the movies I was introduced for.
The turning point for me was "Napoleon and Josephine" I did´nt feel he was acting Napoleon, but that he was Napoleon.
It impressed so much, that I had to write him all about it !
I started a hunt on the internet, to figur out how I could see more movies with him !
Shockingly I recived a letter from America and inside was a lovely photo of Armand, with personal greetings and his autograf !
Ever since that, I been collecting his work, written him many letters and have been portraying him maybe 50 times.
There seemed to be yet another angle I had´nt draw him in !
Through the years (now 12) I got in contact with some of his other fans and we exhanged photos and news about him.
It´s thanks to theese acquaintances I have recieved information about Armands work, since they introduced me to old interviews written in different magasins, through his intire carrier.
That is what I want to share, with all of you, at this website, - as well as I hope you all will help me, to show him how many fans he has got out there in the big world, that he might not yet know of !
Dear all...I hope you will help me celebrate his fantastic and ever so intertaining performance.

It went down all the time. So there was a flooding of the basement they worked in...then there was a fire...and so on. The poor guys that run the hotel had so much bad luck.
That´s why the number of visitors are not that high from the 2 first years of our excistence.
Then we got this wonderfull hotel we got now, and it allways works. And we got a Domain Registrated name.
Besides that we got lot's of space.
I was about to fill the previous hotel up to the egde of it.
We use Chart.dk as a counter.
Last year I got mail that the business burned down to ground for a whole month there were no countings !
The 5.000 vistiors in 2007 is not correct...but the best we know.
Now things finely ran smooze.
Yet.......
As any other "business" in Denmark we had e-mail attackers.
I saw doctor Phil the other day about Internet Bulli's. It's obviously a pretty common thing...If you are pissed you just spam some ones e-mail...and come with horrible threats.
Even as I blocked their e-mails they just made another account and wrote "It's me again...You will never get rit of me !"
I had to get help from a proffesional internet expert that helped me block their IP in the firewall.
One should belive that fans would be happy to find all the information they need in one place. But no...some are ready to kill me if I don't take it down.
The attacks comes in wawes. Always as Armand Assante is doing something really fabulos...as in january 2008 as he was in Sundance and in September 2008 as he was making history in Grand Rapids making "The Steam Experiment"
I´m now glad to see the many users from world wide joining us. And it´s very lifeconfirming to get all theese lovely e-mails from happy fans all over the world.

The "assantefansite's" Birthday
I had been working on it for about two month.
It had back then a free hotel called the Frac.
It worked sometimes...but very rare...It was pretty fustrating.
Fans browsed for the page in vain and many gave up...no wonder...it was down for months.
But everybody start with one little baby-step and then another...
And we finally bought a Hotel and got a Domain name and here after it allways worked.
The idea came slowly and was actually not really planned.
Allready there existed a fanpage for Armand Assante, it had been there for years - so why bother ?
I sat here alone in Denmark where almost no one knowes who the H.... Armand Assante is ?!
I had collected information about him since 1996 where it occured to me for the first time that Napoleon, and Moretti or Joe Hearn for that matter actually was one and the same american actor !
I went on the internet and found a Forum with his name and gave my self a nicknam and asked the others some questions.
This was how I met Eva and Betsy.
They were both very helpfull and sended me alot of movies, copies of articles, fanstuff and God knows what.
There I sat with my own two fat folders stuffed with information and red the interesting interviews with Armand Assante, that I actually thought never gave an interview ?
Why hide all this on my shelf ?
Why not share it with everybody all over the world ?
Why not create it the way I wished the first fansite would have been ?
From an open page it turned into an almost secret club...time after time I gave myself a nickname and an accescode and next time I tryed to log-in my nickname was blocked.
It annoyed me that all information was presented as if it was something the webmaster had from a secret source...and still sat on.
Most of it hearsay and gossip about his lovelife or privacy...
The way the Tabloids do it...sensational but hardly true...
Any news or statement was only presented as a half story...allways with a "more to come"...but it never came.
Discussing the idea with Eva and Betsy and others afterwoods that joined in on it...this page was shaped.
Since then many, many more helped out. They sended their clippings, articles, photos, memoriable and it was overwhelming. It took me several years to sit and type one word in, one after another...looking at the paper prints I had.
I still got things in the "basement" that either need editing or translation.
I had to take care of the news as speedy as they runned in...
And I thought "Where does the man get all this energy from ? He is working with all this...and I only have to write about it and organize it !!! I can hardly keep up with him ???"
And so it has went on since then.
The same thing happen to all the photos people sended me.
"Look,... aint he cute here ???"
My hardisc got stuffed and was out of space.
I bought an extra hardisc and a cabel...and now most information about Armand is stored there...because it can't be on my computer. There is simply to much !
And the the idea with the Newsletter and the Temporary Showroom came about ...
New ideas hopefully grow on in the future...meanwhile we can all injoy the many movies Armand Assante has been in and all the wonderfull interviews he has given...knowing there are so many more to come...
We might get lucky having some from the past as well, there are other interviews but the ones at these pages...for sure..!!
But with the help of all fans all over the world we daily grow...

and thank's to the internet this world is no bigger than a small village, when it comes to spreading the news, and we still got no advertising...!
The more people that visit´s us, the higher we get up in the browsers !
So again, - it is the fans that create this, - by the use of it...
And last but not least ...Yes, we did it !
We reached over 20.000 visitors this year even on it´s birthday

"Armand about Acting" became to big...
The page had become so long and heavy I had to do something about it.
Only in January 2010 : the Page "Armand About Acting" topped with 124.343 hits.
Something else happend.
On the internet was a rising amount of old articles displayed...all magazines and newspapers...worked backwards as well as forward.
I found a lot of old interviews with Armand Assante he made while doing this and that movie.
Besides that there was a break in the incomming news so I got time to pick up some old scannings of articles I had in the dark corner of "my basement".
The most interesting part of that, was proberly the many theater plays Armand Assante had been in, we never heard of before. He was even once in "Cat on a hot Tinroof" ...busy, busy as ever.
I had to split up the page "Armand about Acting" into Decades.
One page ended up being 5 pages.
Also the "His Life" page got a new piff.
I should be easier from now on...to find a movie or theater play at "His life" page and then go directly to the Decade is was released in and look for articles at "Armand about Acting".
"Links" site got reduced as well, and the movie trailer, clips and other small cuts from a movie...now where placed right next to the movie in question.
Hope this alterations makes it is easier for all concerned.
